TRAVIS, the Reader, RESPONDS:Thank you Mr. Amis,I just thought it was important to clarify this, and not give your readers the wrong information.? I appreciate your dilegence.? It is rare to get any feedback, let alone positive feedback from webmasters.? You are a diamond among coals.

SUBJECT: Your Editorial
Dear Rod:
I read your editorial with interest. I do and don't agree with you. Some older leftists like me have not turned our backs on the young. Too many have.
On the other hand, too many young people have assumed an apolitical stance in this critical era of rising fascism in the United States.
By the way, I would like to submit more work to your publication.
Peace,
Patrick F

SUBJECT: A Uniformly Uninformed Citizenry (on Huffington Post)
Mr. Amis,
I ran across your article on Huffington Post while researching the source of that elusive quote about an "informed citizenry." First, thank you for setting the record straight; I, too, thought this quote originated with Jefferson or one of the other Founding Fathers. It's useful to know the real facts about this quote, even though we might wish it to be attributable to one of the Framers.
Secondly, I'd like to ask if I might have permission to republish your article on my blog, American Liar. It's an excellent commentary on both the state of our media system, and the state of our citizenry. I would of course include whatever statement of attribution you'd like to accompany the piece.
FYI, American Liar is focused on the subjects of "Truth and Lies, and how they are manifested, used and abused in our current social/political/media culture."
I appreciate your consideration of my request, and again, thank you for an excellent and instructive commentary!
Steve Sanders
American Liar
"lies, liars and the fools who love them"PS: I love your reference to the mangled "Ammurican" pronunciation in "American News is Comedy." It's been one of those things that's stuck in my craw for quite some time now; every time Bush utters that propagandistic spewage it makes my skin crawl. And have you noticed what he does with our Congress? It's always "Cong-urse."
Good grief! He makes us look like a nation of idiots; or at least sheep who follow idiots...
ROD RESPONDS:Steve, Thanks for writing. I was always convinced that no one read my media critique at the HuffPost. Feel free to quote.
As I've joked for year, I'm the most internationally famous unknown writer on the Web.
Cheers!

SUBJECT: ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL
Dear Rod,
I only discovered your Web a few months ago and had to write to tell you that it is absolutely wonderful and courageous! That it is from the United States is breathtaking.
In a world where your country is spreading so much fear, you are a beacon! Your writers are so sincere and courageous instead of fearful that it is amazing. I see that you have been here for ten years and must apologize for only discovering you by accident. I don't know where I was before I found you.
Your writers from Africa are, as I'm sure you know, impressive. At the same time, that a U.S. Web would have a writer from Al Jazeera on its staff, Natasha Tynes, says a lot about your ethics.
I salute you and will have more of the people I know come to your "World's Magazine," Rod!
Sylvie
ROD RESPONDS:Sylvie,Thanks for writing! We're blushing. You are too kind.
Welcome aboard.
